The Match Official Records search facility is the most in-depth database of profiles available on referee’s who have appeared in Heineken Cup and European Challenge Cup matches. Since the beginning of the Heineken Cup tournament in 1995, hundreds of referees have been refereeing matches across Europe.
Statistics related to every referee over the last 13 years are now easily accessible through the Match Official Records. Discover interesting facts about those officials in the Heineken Cup and the European Challenge Cup by searching through the database.
REFEREE SELECTION:
The Match Officials for Heineken Cup games are selected by an ERC Match Officials Selection Panel made up of Referee Managers from the six Unions of the participating clubs.
The selections are made from a Heineken Cup referee Panel of the leading referees from the six nations and are based on their performances, experience and on meritocracy.
All Heineken Cup referees are reviewed an ongoing bases by experienced match official performance reviewers who supply the referees with feedback on their performance and report back to Match Official Selection Committee.
Where the participating clubs have issues with the performance of a match official or wish to review a particular incident, they are invited to forward their feedback to ERC so that this can be considered by the Selection Committee for their future appointments.
